Complete Locate Package

Submitting a locate request does not mean digging can begin immediately. Each buried infrastructure owner responds separately. Excavation cannot begin until all responses have been received and marked as complete on the Locate Confirmation Sheet that was emailed to you after you submitted your request.

The complete locate package includes:

  • Locate request confirmation
  • Responses from all notified infrastructure owners. Review the locate status definitions.
  • Clearance documentation
  • Marking information
  • Safety instructions and special requirements, where applicable

For single-address requests, responses may take up to 5 business days. Multi-address advance requests may take up to 10 business days.


Report a Compliance Issue

If you believe there has been non-compliance with the Ontario Underground Infrastructure Notification System Act, 2012, its regulations, or Ontario Dig Authority’s By-laws, you can submit a complaint for review.

Complaints may include, but are not limited to:

  • Late Locates
  • Inaccurate Locates
  • False Renegotiated Date
  • Digging Without a Locate
